We work collaboratively with our referring veterinarians, clients, and each other to be the preferred provider of emergency and critical care in West Michigan.

Our hospital is located at 3260 Plainfield Avenue NE in Grand Rapids, MI. We are Ā¼ mile north of the I-96 expressway off exit #33.

At the Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital of Grand Rapids, our goal is to work with you and your veterinarian to provide the best emergency and critical care services for your pet. When your pet experiences an unexpected illness or injury, our staff of highly skilled veterinarians, technicians, and assistants are always prepared to provide your pet with compassionate care. We are committed to assisting your veterinarian to provide comprehensive care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Whether your pet stays with us for hours or days, we will ensure your petās stay is as comfortable as possible. We serve communities throughout West Michigan, including Grand Rapids, Holland, Grand Haven, Muskegon, Newaygo, Ionia, Wayland, and all points between.

Our regular vet was closed Monday and Tuesday (4/7&4/8/2025) and our Kitty had been throwing up since Saturday. Their recording told us to go to Animal Emergency Hospital so off we went. It was over an hour drive one way but so worth it. Kitty is a rescue and doesn't handle loud noises well, along with separation anxiety. Luckily, the staff is on site 24 hours a day and...
