We work collaboratively with our referring veterinarians, clients, and each other to be the preferred provider of emergency and critical care in West Michigan.
Contact/Location
Our hospital is located at 3260 Plainfield Avenue NE in Grand Rapids, MI. We are ¼ mile north of the I-96 expressway off exit #33.

At the Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital of Grand Rapids, our goal is to work with you and your veterinarian to provide the best emergency and critical care services for your pet. When your pet experiences an unexpected illness or injury, our staff of highly skilled veterinarians, technicians, and assistants are always prepared to provide your pet with compassionate care. We are committed to assisting your veterinarian to provide comprehensive care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Whether your pet stays with us for hours or days, we will ensure your pet’s stay is as comfortable as possible. We serve communities throughout West Michigan, including Grand Rapids, Holland, Grand Haven, Muskegon, Newaygo, Ionia, Wayland, and all points between.

Great staff, great treatment, explained issues that were easy to understand. Spent about 1 1/2 hours from time of arrival to checkout. Time seemed reasonable given we were a walk in. Can not thank animal emergency hospital of Grand Rapids enough for there dedicated care for maverick! Brought him in with what was thought to be an intestinal blockage. The receptionists were absolutely wonderful, so kind and caring. The vet who we saw was compassionate, giving excellent care to our older dog. Our pup is on the mend, doing well. The wait was a little long, but worth it.

I was extremely impressed by my recent visit to AEH. My cat had fipronil poisoning and my vet had me go straight to AEH. All staff was nice, professional, & truly cared for my dog even though they were crazy busy. The vet came up with options for treatments and we were given costs for each option after the initial exam. Arrived with a very sick acting cat, who had been vomiting for 24 hours and went home with a cat who came out of the carrier immediately started eating. Yes, it took five hours because we live 3/4 of an hour away, but it was worth it.
